MET Money is back in 2026, and better than ever!
First introduced at the NW/MET 2017 Conference, MET Money is a fantastic way for exhibitors and attendees to engage with each other. Attendees will be able to redeem MET Money for prizes at the Thursday night closing dinner. Exhibitors have MET Money. Attendees want MET Money.
This year, MET Money will be totally digital! No blockchains or cryptocurrency, just an app. The NW/MET App will be your key to MET Money. Exhibitors will be able to scan your QR code, and when your QR code is scanned, you will automatically accumulate MET Money. But there are rules!
- You earn MET Money by having exhibitors scan your QR code.
- By having your QR code scanned, the exhibitor is collecting your Name, Institution, and Email address. No further demographic or contact information is collected or distributed.
- Exhibitors may have multiple representatives and you can earn MET Money from each one.
- Exhibitors can scan your QR code as many times as they – or you – like, but you will only earn MET Money once each day from each representative.
- The clock resets at midnight. The following day, exhibitors can scan your QR code again, and you can earn MET Money from that representative again.
- Exhibitors cannot accumulate MET Money and cannot redeem MET Money for prizes.
- Attendees can also scan QR codes, of exhibitors or other attendees, but that won’t earn them any MET Money.
- How much you earn from having your QR code scanned depends on the tier of the exhibitor’s sponsorship. Platinum: M$20; Gold: M$10; Silver: M$5; Bronze: M$1.
- As with past years, you can earn MET Money in other ways, through helpful deeds or with fun and games on Thursday night, but the primary means of earning MET Money remains having your QR code scanned by an exhibitor.
- You can transfer some or all of your MET Money to other attendees.
- The app will keep track of how much MET Money you have. No more counting!
- You will use the app to redeem MET Money for prizes on Thursday.
- MET Money balances will be reset at the end of the NW/MET 2026 Conference.
