Dante Training
All day, Thursday, May 21
A full day of training from the Dante experts! 5 1-hour sessions, becoming progressively more advanced throughout the day.
Components of The Dante Platform (9:00am – 10:30am)
New to Dante or looking to catch up on the latest in AV-over-IP? This session breaks down the components of the Dante platform — from transport to management and control. We’ll explore the Dante ecosystem, including software applications, hardware integration, and recommended practices for system design. Whether you’re just getting started or already using Dante in your workflow, you’ll gain a clear understanding of how the pieces fit together and what’s new in the Dante ecosystem.
Dante Controller 101: A Beginner’s Walkthrough (10:45am – 12:00pm)
Take the mystery out of Dante Controller with this hands-on, beginner-friendly session. We’ll walk you step-by-step through the interface — explaining pages, tabs, symbols, and key features in plain language. Learn how to name devices, interpret error messages, and understand exactly what Dante Controller is telling you. By the end of this session, you’ll know how to connect devices and have a working Dante network up and running in just minutes. Perfect for anyone new to Dante or looking to build a solid foundation in audio and video networking.
Dante Diagnostics: Basic Troubleshooting with Dante Controller (1:00pm – 1:50pm)
Not sure where to start when your Dante network isn’t behaving? This practical session walks you through the entire troubleshooting process—from identifying common issues to resolving them step-by-step, all within Dante Controller. You’ll learn how to pinpoint problems, interpret alerts, and apply real-world fixes without touching your network switch. Through a live demo of a “broken” Dante setup, you’ll gain the confidence and know-how to quickly get your system back on track.
IP Addressing: Choosing Between Static, Link-Local and DHCP (2:00pm – 2:50pm)
Every Dante network starts with one essential step: devices need to find each other. This session explores how IP addressing makes that possible, and why different methods — static, link-local, or DHCP — matter for reliable connectivity. We’ll keep it simple, showing how each option works and when it’s the right choice for your setup.
By the end of the class, you’ll understand how Dante devices connect at a basic network level, and how to spot common connection issues before they escalate. Whether you’re setting up your first system or troubleshooting a growing one, you’ll leave with a clearer sense of how IP addressing underpins all Dante communication.
Seamless AV Management with Dante Director (3:00pm – 3:50pm)
As Dante systems continue to grow, managing them on-site can become time-consuming. Dante Director brings that management into the cloud, giving you the ability to oversee and adjust installed systems from anywhere. In this session, we’ll explain what Dante Director is, why cloud-based control matters, and how it changes the way you think about managing audio networks.
We’ll also walk through the Dante Director interface, showing how to organize devices, adjust system settings, and keep everything running smoothly without always needing to be in the room. By the end, you’ll see how cloud-based management can simplify your workflow and give you greater confidence in your installed Dante systems.
